Thanking Our Benefactors
As a result of funding provided by the Mervin Bovaird Foundation, the Boesche Legal Clinic has been housed in a 3,800 square foot, state of the art building since 2002. Established by Mabel W. Bovaird in 1955 after the death of her husband, Mervin, a principal of the Bovaird Supply Company, the Bovaird Foundation is a regular supporter of The University of Tulsa as well as the community. Trustees of the Bovaird Foundation made a gift to Tulsa College of Law for the clinic building, and TU's legal clinic was renamed after their friend and colleague, Fenelon Boesche. Fenelon Boesche was involved with the Bovaird Foundation from its inception and served as its president until his death in 1993.
Additional funding for the Clinic was provided by the estate of Jay C. Byers JD '61. In connection with the donation, his sister, Shirley Laws, commented: "We are enormously proud that Jay arranged through his will to leave a legacy at TU. His assistance will benefit new generations of law students for many years to come."
