Scholarship Opportunities

The University of Tulsa College of Law recognizes the importance of being financially prepared to start law school. In addition to the scholarships provided by the College of Law, we encourage all students to research scholarships available through external funding. The following list has been compiled to assist our students from under-represented groups and we hope that it will be a useful resource to you as a prospective or current student. Please note that many of the criteria and availability of these scholarships are always subject to change.

• ABA's Law Student Awards, Competitions, Grants and Scholarships
• ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship Fund
• Davis Wright Tremaine has two diversity scholarships for first year students, who participate in the summer associate program with partner and associate mentors. Then, in their second year they receive a $7,500 scholarship.
• FastWeb: Free scholarship and college searches and financial aid tools.
• FinAid! has a page for specifically for minority students
• National Black Law Students Association has scholarships listed on their site.
• National Asian Pacific American Bar Association Law Foundation has scholarships available
• Practicing Attorneys for Law Students Program, Inc. PALS matches minority law students with volunteer lawyers who serve as mentors to provide career guidance for minorities in the legal profession. Scholarships are also available.
• United Negro College Fund Scholarships

• National and Local Minority Bar Associations and State Bar Associations

• The National LGBT Bar Association Michael Greenberg Student Writing Competition
• In Legal Color, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to increase law school diversity by providing inspiration, information and support to prospective law students of color.

• The Asian Pacific Institute for Congressional Studies has internship and fellowship opportunities
• The Department of Labor's Office of the Solicitor has a Solicitor's Honor Program for outstanding third year law students.
