John Forrester Hicks

Professor of Law

John HicksProfessor Hicks received his J.D. from Baylor University and his LL.M. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He joined the faculty of the College of Law in 1968. During his tenure, he was visiting professor at Stetson University, Brigham Young University, University of California Hastings College of the Law, Seton Hall University, Fordham University, Yeshiva University Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, and Wake Forest University. Professor Hicks served as associate dean for the TU College of Law (1984-1987). He received the Outstanding Professor award for the College of Law as well as the University's Distinguished Teacher award. He is a former editor of the American Bar Association's Natural Resources Lawyer and the Oklahoma Bar Association's Real Property Report. During his time at the University of Tulsa College of Law, Professor Hicks taught property, decedents' estates and trusts, land use controls, real estate finance, and real estate transactions.
