Assignment for Monday, August 29, 2011  

8:45 – 9:45 College of Law Policies, Honor Code and Plagiarism (Dean Janet Levit & Dean Martha Cordell)[ACAC–Hall A]  

1.        Please read Dean Levit’s TLR article, “Going Public with Transnational Law.”    

2.        Write a 300-500 word essay in which you take a “stand” about whether the Supreme Court should embrace transnational law in their judicial review.  

3.        Include in your essay at least one example of:

            a.        Paraphrasing a portion of Dean Levit’s article

            b.       Quoting Dean Levit’s article

            c.        Using ideas from Dean Levit’s article

Your assignment will be collected on Sunday, August 28 during Registration.  We will randomly select three or four essays to discuss during class on Monday.  The purpose of the exercise is to illustrate how to properly give attribution to a research source, such as a law review article.
