Law Firm Challenge Guidelines


Who is eligible?
Any law firm, corporation, or organization with that employs two or more University of TulsaTU  College of Law graduates is eligible to participate in the Law Firm Challenge. as long as they have at least one person One person must be willing to serve as the TU Law Firm challenge representative. The representativeThis person will engages and motivates fellow alumni within the firm to make a gift to the law school in order to reach 100% participation.

What gifts count toward participation in the Law Firm Challenge?
The Law Firm Challenge runs July 1, 2013 – April 30, 2014. Any gift or pledge payment made to TU Law between July 1, 2013 and April 30, 2014 will qualify.

How does the Law Firm Challenge benefit TU College of Law?
Tuition only covers a portion of the ever-increasing cost of providing quality legal education. Private support for the school drives its success through scholarship and student support, expanded opportunities for its dedicated faculty members, and program support. In 2013 The University of Tulsa College of Law was ranked 86th by US News and World Report. Your gifts, both large and small, provide the resources that help build on TU College of Law’s tradition of promoting professionalism, community service, and leadership.

How does our firm win the challenge?
Firms win when they reach 100% participation, meaning every TU Law graduate has made a gift or pledge of any amount to the law school this fiscal year.

How does the Law Firm Challenge benefit our firm?
Firms who achieve 100% participation benefit from increased visibility and recognition from their peers, alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends of the school. Recognition of 100% participation will be listed on the school's website, in the alumni magazine, in the annual report, and with signage in the law school career services office.  Each donor will also receive a personalized 'thank you' letter for their contribution.

What are the responsibilities of a Law Firm Challenge Representative?
TU Law Firm Challenge representatives inform their alumni colleagues about the challenges and needs of the law school, and then motivate them to make gifts.  In August we will send each challenge representative information about the program, the number and names of alumni at their firm, and information about how to get started. Throughout the academic year, you will receive updates and support from the Office of Development.
