Thursday, October 27, 2011

TU College of Law staff member Christy Caves has been named Vice Chair of the Oklahoma Bar Association Access to Justice Committee.

Caves is TU Law’s Associate Director of Professional Development and Public Service Coordinator. Her term begins January 1, 2012.

"Christy’s commitment to the TU Law public service program and her service on Tulsa County Bar Association and Oklahoma Bar Association committees have resulted in this appointment," said Kristine Bridges, TU Law Assistant Dean for Professional Development. "She will be a great addition to the committee and the important work they do in helping to expand access to justice."

The Access to Justice Committee strives for solutions that will give court access to the public, afford lawyers and judges guidelines that ensure attorneys’ livelihood and provide judges with ethical guidelines. The committee works with law schools, legal aid services, students, professionals, the American Bar Association, and county bar associations, among others. The committee has acted as a clearing house to enhance statewide communication on access issues and has networked with other OBA committees and at the national level.
