What to Do NowBrittani Teague, Graduate Student with Business Career Development, presented options for students pursuing careers after the job fairs had ended.  She provided numerous ideas for a continued job search.




Golden OpporTUnities Information Sessions - October 19-23, 2009

Golden OpporTUnitiesBusiness Career Development offered information sessions for students interested in registering with Golden OpporTUnities and learning about the capabilities of the website.  Golden OpporTUnities is a job search tool provided to TU students.



Interview Strategies - September 18, 2009

Interview strategies attendeesStudents attended a presentation to find out what a successful interview looks like, as well as identify interview don’ts. The presentation by Caroline Franklin was followed by an employer panel.  Mock interviews were also offered by attending employers.



Dress for Success - September 11, 2009

Mannequins dressed in appropriate interview attireStudents learned how to make a positive first impression when meeting an employer.  The presenter, Jana Christian of the Etiquette School of Oklahoma, provided information on appropriate interview attire for both men and women.






Koch Industries Visits Collins College of Business - September 10, 2009

Recruiters from Koch IndustriesWichita-based company, Koch Industries, visited TU this Fall.  Among many products, Koch companies not only supply energy used to heat and cool buildings, but also provides fibers for garments and carpets.  Representatives of Koch Industries visited with students in the lobby of Helmerich Hall, displaying products associated with their company.  Presentations were made to classes, as well as providing an information session.

How to work a career fair presentationIn order to prepare for the upcoming TU job fairs, Business Career Development hosted this workshop offering skills on mixing and mingling with potential employers.  Students learned from Jana Christian how to meet and greet employers at a career fair or networking event.
