The role of accounting information in business management and the core concepts of accounting. Emphasizes use of accounting information for economic decisions of managers, investors, capital markets, governmental units, and not-for-profit entities. Covers accounting information in the areas of financial and managerial accounting, taxation, information systems and auditing. Prerequisite: MIS 1123 with a grade of C or higher.
