The Practicum course is designed to allow students to work in small interdisciplinary teams to connect their knowledge and interests to complete a service learning project. Working closely with a team of industry and faculty mentors, students will propose and independently implement an innovation of their own creation that launches a new enterprise or benefits an area business or non-profit organization. This course will allow students to develop their interests and passions, employ the tools and lessons learned in earlier courses, and have a “capstone” experience in the Certificate. In some cases, engineering students will work alongside business students on the development and commercialization of inventions. This course culminates with a poster session event where students present and discuss their projects with the public.
