Research
Nursing faculty members are involved in a number of scholarly activities.
Barbara Martin, Clinical Professor, collaborates with Sandra Smith contributing to the Smith
Content Review for NCLEX-RN text and co-authoring of the Smith, Duell and Martin,
Clinical Nursing Skills: Basic to Advanced text with editions published in 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, and 2008. This collaboration also produced the
Photo Guide of Nursing Skills in 2002. Both the
Clinical Nursing Skills text and the
Photo Guide have been translated into Japanese, which attests to their versatility and relevance for nursing practice. The
Clinical Nursing Skills will be released in PDA version Spring, 2009.
Lee Anne Nichols, Associate Professor, co-authored a chapter with M. Baker in 2008 titled Pathways to Leadership: Developing a Culturally Competent Leadership Curriculum for American Indian Nurses in
Transforming Nursing Education: The Culturally Inclusive Environment (Eds, M.D. Pharris & S. D. Bosher) by Springer Publishing, NY. She also had another coauthored chapter, Exploring Global Health Ethics from an American Indian Perspective in
Globalisation of Nursing: Ethical, Legal, & Political Issues, which was published in the UK.
Merry Kelly Rehm, Clinical Assistant Professor, co-authored an article, What Can Healthcare Organizations Learn About Pharmacist Retention From Magnet Status Hospitals? published in
Research in Social and Administrative Pharmacy.
