Accounting Undergraduate Certificate
The certificate program in accounting prepares individuals for entry-level accounting positions, enhances accounting knowledge necessary for advancement in existing positions, and prepares candidates for professional certification examinations such as the Certified Management Accountant and Certified Internal Auditor examinations.
Those admitted to this program must either hold a bachelor's degree or have sufficient course work for junior standing at The University of Tulsa.
Certification requires that students complete 24 credit hours in accounting with a minimum 2.0 grade point average.
Candidates for the CPA examination in Oklahoma must have at least 150 semester hours of college credit, of which 76 semester hours must be upper-division courses and 36 semester hours must be upper-division accounting courses, including one course in auditing. Similar 150-hour requirements apply to candidates taking the CPA examination in other states and jurisdictions.
