Accounting and MIS Research
Three professors were published for their work
Drs. Akhilesh Bajaj, Wray Bradley and Karen Cravens recently published an article in the Journal of Information Systems, an Accounting Information Systems Journal.
The paper, entitled, "SAAS: Integrating Systems Analysis with Accounting and Strategy for Ex Ante Evaluation of IS Investments" tackles the difficult and relevant problem of evaluating Information System (IS) projects before they are attempted.
The work proposes using a comprehensive set of measures to present a clear picture of the suitability and fit of an IS project for the organization. Systems Analysis is used to model processes and data at a very detailed level, and the systems analysis models are used to arrive at estimates for quantitative accounting measures as well as qualitative balanced scorecard measures. The work has been met with considerable interest by the national and international academic community.
