TU Professor visits Spain
Professor Donald Henry recently attended a conference in Tarragona Spain that focused on understanding the ways in which Neanderthals organized their behaviors based upon archaeological evidence. Contrary to popular opinion, archaeologists have found that Neanderthals behaved very much like modern humans in the order and spatial segregation of their activities. Professor Henry discussed his excavation of the 55,000 year old rockshelter site in southern Jordan where his team traced several specialized activity areas attributed to Neanderthals. He was extensively quoted in Science about his research and the conference proceedings.
