Undergraduate Research Opportunities
Undergraduate students in communication disorders may engage in research with faculty members. In recent years, undergraduates have participated in projects dealing with the use of echolalic language forms in a child with autism spectrum disorder as well as with investigating early intervention services for deaf infants and toddlers.
Students are encouraged to participate in the TURC program as part of their undergraduate academic plan of study in communication disorders.
Past Tulsa Undergraduate Research Challenge (TURC) projects:
Garcia, K. (2004). An investigation of pre-literacy strategies used by hearing children compared to those used by deaf children.
Smith, J., (2003). An investigation of early intervention services for deaf infants and toddlers.
