John Coward completed his term as chair of the History Division of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) in August, 2009. As chair, Coward was responsible for programming at the organization’s national convention in Boston. Among the highlights of the program were a workshop on Nazi propaganda, co-sponsored with the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum and a field trip to the American Antiquarian Society in Worcester, Mass.
Coward also spoke to the American Indian Art Association in April about his research on Indian illustrations in the nineteenth-century pictorial press.
