Faculty and students in the Department of Communication undertake research and creative activities in fields such as media studies, political communication, advertising, media history, new media technology, and video production.

The communication faculty's research addresses specific areas: media and democracy, media sociology, rhetoric, political communication, minorities and media, and new media technologies, among other subjects.
