Beverly Bryan

In 1976, Beverly Bryan was Oklahoma’s first woman TV news photographer. She progressed to other first places in the National Press Photographers Association and White House News Photographers Association contests, Emmy awards, and Miami, Florida’s first woman TV news photographer in 1978. In 1983, she joined the ABC affiliate, WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C., as production photographer/editor, and later returned as a news editor in 1994. In 1998, Ms. Bryan earned a First Place award in the 55th annual White House News Photographers Association competition and was honored by President Bill Clinton in the Oval Office of the White House. She was named “Editor of the Year 2000” in the 58th Annual W.H.N.P.A. competition and was honored for this award by President George Bush in the Oval Office of the White House.
