Lars Engle was the Lloyd Davis Memorial Visiting Professor of Shakespeare Studies at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia in May 2010.
Lars Engle was the Lloyd Davis Memorial Visiting Professor of Shakespeare Studies at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia in May. He gave a memorial lecture, “Shame and Reflection in Montaigne and Shakespeare,” a related day-long seminar for advanced students, and a lecture on Macbeth and pragmatism to the Centre for the History of European Discourses. He also lectured at the University of Adelaide and at the University of Auckland.
Engle has articles forthcoming in Shakespeare Survey, Shakespeare Quarterly, The Oxford Shakespeare Handbook, and The Oxford Handbook to Middleton. He has recently been appointed to the editorial boards of Exemplaria, Texas Studies in Language and Literature, and Shakespeare Quarterly. He has also been named the inaugural James G. Watson Professor of English at Tulsa.
