Our Faculty and Staff
Our Faculty and Staff
The Faculty of English Language and Literature teaches and studies the texts and cultures of the English-speaking world. We pride ourselves on our teaching, which has been recognized by the college and by the state; professors in the department are friendly and accessible, and five current faculty members have won the University Outstanding Teacher award. The department is a center for innovative research in literary and cultural studies. Students in the department, both undergraduate and graduate, have opportunities to intern at the department’s two internationally-known academic journals, The James Joyce Quarterly and Tulsa Studies in Women’s Literature, and many English majors also work with Nimrod, the famous literary magazine that shares the third floor of Zink Hall with English. English is also the home at T.U. of the Modernist Journals Project, which digitizes early 20th century periodicals and mounts them with commentary on the web.
