A degree in History is excellent preparation for the teaching profession.  Students in our program get a broad background in History.  They also acquire the analytical skills needed to jump into new subject areas.  Alumni of our BA and MA programs who are now teachers include:

 

  • Christine Anderson (BA 2001, MA 2003) teaches US history and government at Bishop Kelley.
  • Chad Beasley (BA 2002) teaches at Edison.
  • Medea Bendel (BA 1998, MA 2003) teaches history and social studies at Bishop Kelley.
  • Audra Bull (BA 1999) is Athletic Director at Thoreau Demonstration Academy.
  • Matt Campbell (BA 2004) teaches history and social studies at East Central High School. 
  • Larry Fincannon (BA 1997) teaches at Webster.
  • Katie Guinn (BA 2006, MA 2009) teaches US and World history at the Jesuit College Preparatory School in Dallas.
  • Rhonda Johnson (BA 1999) teaches history and social studies at Union Intermediate High School.
  • Dallas Koehn (BA 1999) teaches at Union Intermediate High School.
  • Justin McCrackin (BA 2001, MA 2003) teaches history and social studies at Jenks High School.
  • Ann Phillips (MA 1993) teaches history at TTC.
  • Mugee Sahinalp Park (MA 2004) teaches AP US history and Math at Nathan Hale High School.
  • Stephen Zedler (BA 2001) teaches at the Street School.
