Kristen Oertel, Mary Frances Barnard Chair, was invited to speak at the Porter Fortune, Jr. History Symposium at the University of Mississippi, and to deliver a paper titled "'The suicide of slavery'?  Bleeding Kansas and the Coming of Civil War" Octobere 15, 2010.
