Faculty Spotlight - Dr. Christine Ruane

Christine Ruane's new book, The Empire's New Clothes:  A History of the Russian Fashion Industry, 1700-1917 has been awarded an honorary mention for this year's Reginald Zelnik Book Prize in History.  The annual award is given by the Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies.

Professor Zelnik was one of Ruane's mentors during her graduate studies at Berkeley and an early supporter of her work on the Russian fashion industry.
