New Publication "The Kalamata Diary: Greece, War, and Emigration"
Dr. Eduardo Faingold, Associate Professor of Spanish will be speaking on his recent book called "The Kalamata Diary: Greece, War, and Emigration" . The diary at the core of this book, was written by a young Greek woman named Sotiria Salivaras. The diary sheds light on the turbulent period from the fall of 1940 through early 1947, as Greece experienced the ravages of Nazi occupation and the post-WWII civil war. The diary describes how and why Sotiria, like many other Greeks, emigrated to Argentina in Latin America in the late 1940s.
Dr. Faingold will be reading from and talking about his book at the Annual Greek Festival in Tulsa at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1200 South Guthrie Avenue on Friday, September 16th at 5pm and Saturday, September 17th at 3pm.
Listen to his interview with
