Undergraduate Research Opportunities

Sociology majors have many opportunities to conduct class-based and independent social science research. In several courses, sociology students work with quantitative and qualitative data to answer interesting questions about the social world. Some students have also worked independently and in groups on community-based research projects. Students meet with a community agency to determine the needs of the agency, design and carry out a research project, and then report back to the community agency. Students have worked with healthcare, criminal justice, non-profit and governmental agencies and Tulsa Institute of Trauma, Adversity and Injustice (TITAN).
