The University of Tulsa’s Department of Theatre will present the musical “The Pajama Game” Oct. 12 - 22 in the Chapman Theatre of Kendall Hall, located at Fifth Place and Florence Avenue.

Management and union members at the Sleep-tite Pajama Factory will do everything but sleep in this popular musical comedy, written by George Abbott and Richard Bissell with music and lyrics by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross. Manager Sid Sorokin and union member Babe Williams are attracted to each other, but their romance is put on hold by a seven and a half cents wage dispute. When the union stages a work slowdown, Sid promises to fire slackers. Angered by Sid’s attitude, Babe is the first to get axed.

Winner of six Tony awards, including best musical, “The Pajama Game” features such unforgettable songs as “Hey There,” “Hernando’s Hideaway,” and “Steam Heat.” The TU Theatre production of this classic is being directed by Terry Silver-Alford, director of musical theatre at TU.
