By Jonathan Larson, Rent is a Tony and Pulitzer Price-winning rock opera, based ont he La Boheme.  Rent opened in New York City on April 29, 1996, at the Netherlander Theatre.  The musical centers around a group of improverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive in under the shadows of AIDS.
