Our Faculty and Staff


The Theatre Faculty and professional staff are dedicated to making our department an exciting, challenging and supportive learning environment. Each faculty member holds a terminal degree in their area of specialization. They share responsibility for and are committed to teaching excellence and to learning and doing theatre as a collaborative art. Learning happens in both classes and on and backstage; one informs the other.

The Faculty and professional staff of the Department of Theatre and Musical Theatre are active teaching artists. They are able to provide undergraduate students the opportunity to acquire as many tools as possible in preparation for "real life theatre" by offering a variety of approaches to acting, design and production. Two of the faculty have won the University's highest awards for outstanding teaching, and all faculty and professional staff have achieved recognition and numerous awards in the KC/ACTF. Three have taken shows to the ACTF finala in DC. The exciting production season is an possible because of the opportunities provided and support received in their classrooms.
