Graduate Research Opportunities
The Last Flower in the Emerald City
by Richard Herzog
Graduate students have access to various competitive cash awards. These include:
The Sarah Clark Memorial Award for Best in Printmaking (Named after a former MFA printmaking student), and
The Sarah Clark Memorial Award for Best in Another Art Medium.
Various cash prizes are awarded for art works submitted to the Annual Gussman Juried Student Art Exhibition (2008 marks the 42th annual!), held each spring in the Alexandre Hogue Gallery. An outside juror chooses about 9 prizes per year. The event is funded by the Herbert and Roseline Gussman Foundation.
In addition, the Office of Research offers Student Research Awards. Graduate students are eligible for various fellowships and assistantships.
We encourage students to apply for various awards for external funding, as well as for exhibitions.
