Visiting Professor Chairs Conference Session

Visiting Professor, Nicole deArmendi chaired a session entitled “In Pieces: Fragmentation in Contemporary Art” at the annual Southeastern Art Conference held in Mobile, Alabama in the fall of 2009. The session examined the fragment in contemporary art and focused on its power of suggestion. Presenters discussed how contemporary artists use fragmentation in such works as readymade objects and media images to produce new meanings.
