Stephen Sumner, former Director for the School of Art, to Juror the 43rd Annual Gussman Juried Student Exhibition

The Annual Gussman Juried Student Exhibition is funded by an annual gift by the Herbert and Roseline Gussman Foundation.
Stephen Sumner, former Director for The University of Tulsa School of Art will serve as juror for the 43rd Gussman Annual Juried Student Exhibition. The Gussman Student Art Show is the capstone exhibit of each academic year. This exhibit is intended to showcase the most exceptional creative works produced by students in the School of Art. All University of Tulsa graduate and undergraduate students who were enrolled during the current academic year are eligible to submit works for inclusion in this exhibit.
A designer and a visual artist with an extensive exhibition record, Mr. Sumner is currently the Executive Director of the Center for the Arts in Evergreen, Colorado. His involvement in art administration is far-reaching. He was the president of Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design in Denver, Colorado, and the provost at the University of Florida’s New World School of the Arts. He also served as Director for the School of Art at TU from 1989 to 2001.
We welcome him back in spring 2011 to judge our student art.
The opening reception for the Gussman Exhibition will be held April 7, from 5 to 7 pm in the Alexandre Hogue Gallery. Awards will be announced at the Opening Reception.
