3rd Floor Design Students at the Guthrie Green
On Thursday, November 1, 2012 Professor M. Teresa Valero and her 3rd Floor Design students built an altarpiece to celebrate Day of the Dead at the Guthrie Green. The altar honored eight Oklahoma musicians: Gene Autry, Woody Guthrie, Chet Baker, Albert E. Brumley, Charlie Christian, Barney Kessel, Mel McDaniel and Pinky Tomlin. Students participating were Roxanne Keibler, Jennifer Boyd and Devinn Parks. The altar was located on the west side of the park and the public was invited to visit the altar from 5 pm – 10 pm. The project was a collaboration of the Guthrie Green, the University of Tulsa School of Art, and the Tulsa Performing Arts Center Trust.
