TU School of Art Announces Upcoming Residency and Workshops: Angel Oliva Lloret, J. Donald Feagin Visiting Artist

J. Donald Feagin Visiting Artist, Angel Oliva Lloret, a well-known Cuban Ceramic artist will be participating in a residency and presenting workshops in the School of Art at Phillips Hall on the University of Tulsa Campus March 25 through April 7, 2013.
Lloret is a graduate, in Painting, Printmaking and Sculpture of the Academy, San Alejandro, the oldest art school in the Americas. He was one of the principal members of Cubanacan, a ceramic workshop founded in Havana, Cuba, from 1983-1986. From 1986 until 1990 he served as Professor of Ceramics, Drawing and Illustration at San Alejandro in Havana. He is Past President of Ceramic Artists in the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba. Sr. Lloret has exhibited and lectured internationally.
While in residency on the TU campus, Sr. Lloret will give a lecture on his work and the work of other Cuban artists and he will produce a large ceramic sculpture with the assistance of School of Art faculty and students. Workshops are free and open to the public; the public is invited to visit the studio on Open Studio Days and participate as needed.
