Whitney Forsyth
Whitney Forsyth
Whitney Forsyth grew up in Manitou Springs, Colorado and began working with clay at a very young age. She received a BFA from Oklahoma State University and an MFA from New Mexico State University in Ceramics. She is currently an Associate Professor of Art at The University of Tulsa School of Art, teaching ceramics. Her work is large-scale ceramic sculpture that is installed on the wall or freestanding. The images come from natural objects that are combined and transformed into plant and animal like forms. The surface of the work is finished with an Oil Patina of bright, layered colors.
