Josh Corngold
Josh Corngold
Prior to joining the TU faculty in 2008, Dr. Corngold attended Stanford University where he earned a Masters degree in Political Science and a PhD in the Philosophy of Education. His research focuses on normative questions at the forefront of the foundations of education field: How can educational policy and practice meet the demands of justice in a pluralistic society? How should various stakeholders—policymakers, teachers, students, and their guardians—respond to social, cultural and philosophical differences? How can publicly supported educational institutions be more inclusive while remaining true to their core academic values and civic purposes? And what principles should guide the regulation of private, parochial and home schools? Dr. Corngold is co-author of the book, Educating for Democracy: Preparing Undergraduates for Responsible Political Engagement (2007). He is a former high school English teacher and has worked extensively with diverse youth from California to New England.
