Student Composition Competition Winners

The 2013 Bela Rozsa Composition Competition and Concert for TU Student Composers took place on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 7:30pm in Meinig Recital Hall in the Lorton Performance Center on the University of Tulsa campus. Every year this competition takes place in the form of a free concert performance, and the public is invited. This year there was a tie for first place: Hayden Iskander, for his "Vignettes" for String Quartet; and Michael Paraskevas, for his "Plastics," for Percussion Ensemble. The second place winner was Benjamin Krumwiede, whose composition was entitled "Klaviermässig," for Piano and Toy Piano. The three winners received cash prizes, and the compositions of the first place winners were performed at the Bela Rozsa Memorial Concert on March 7, 2013.
