Guest Speaker: Dr. Jane Wegner

The 15th Annual Route 66 Conference for Communication Disorders  has been scheduled for Friday, February, 12, 2010 at the University of Tulsa, Allen Chapman Activity Center.  Social Communication:  Assesment & Intervention Strategies will be the topic with guest speaker, Dr. Jane Wegner.  Registration must be postmarked by January 29th, 2010.

Jane Wegner, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, is a Clinical Professor and Director of the Schiefelbusch Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic at the University of Kansas. She directs the Pardee Augmentative and Alternative Communication Resource and Research Laboratory on the Lawrence campus of KU. Dr. Wegner is the director for two personnel preparation projects funded by the Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs: Communication, Autism, and Technology
(CAT) and Augmentative Communication in the Schools (ACTS). Dr. Jane Wegner has authored
numerous articles and book chapters on augmentative and alternative communication systems and autism. She is a Fellow of the American Speech Language Hearing Association. She has served on the ASHA Ad Hoc Committee on Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) that developed the ASHA policy documents for practice with people diagnosed with ASD. Dr. Wegner has over thirty
years of clinical practice and teaching experience.
