The University of Tulsa Summer Residential Camps in FILMMAKING For High School Students

Filmmaking Camp: July 11-18, 2009

From understanding the shot, to breaking down the script and finally production, you will have an intensive experience in creating your own film with a screening of the final results, under the guidance of filmmaker Erin McHenry on state-of-the-art production and post-production hardware and software. Workshop activity will be supplemented by evening screenings and recreation. For high school students, from entering Freshmen to graduating Seniors.

About the Faculty

Erin McHenry graduated with honors from the Film program at the University of Oklahoma. While in school she won a scholarship and filmmaking award from producer/director Ned Hockman for a short documentary covering the Tulsa Race Riots. Erin has worked in a wide range of fields within the film medium, from being a videographer for a television pilot starring X-Games gold medalist Travis Pastrana, to doing audio for live news casts, to editing films and projects with professional software such as Avid and Final Cut Pro. After graduation Erin went on to work for KJRH in Tulsa in the production department and is currently working for Ackerman-McQueen’s Branded News, Inc. helping with the production for a live internet news show called OklaTravelNews.com. She continued her education and obtained certification as a secondary education instructor for Journalism and is currently studying in the Master’s Program for Collegiate Scholarships and Sciences at Northeastern State University. A student assistant from The University of Tulsa will work with the filmmaking class as well, to provide additional mentoring.
