Award: Grants available.

Eligibility: Students must be US citizens. Applicants must be registered as a full time student in an art degree program for the term a grant is received and may be at the bachelor's, master's, or doctoral level.

Department of Energy - Mickey Leland - 2015 Summer Energy Fellowship

Award: Weekly stipend of $750 for Masters students and $850 for Ph.D. students and graduates.

Eligibility: Be 18 years of age. Be a US citizen. Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, or had a Ph.D. conferred on or after January 2, 2014. Have a GPA of 3.00 or higher. Must be pursuing STEM degree (short for science, technology, engineering or math).

Award: Two $5,000 Scholarships

Ford Foundation Fellowships

Eligibility: U.S. Citizen/Nationa/Permanent Resident/Individuals granted deferred action status and planning a career in teaching and research at the college or research level in science, social science, or humanities.


  • Predoctoral - $20,000 to the fell, institutional allowance of $2,000 for three years.
  • Dissertation - $21,000 for one year
  • Postdoctoral - $40,000 for one year, $1,500 employing allowance, to be matched by employing institution.

National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship

Eligibility: Students in the early stages of graduate career who are seeking research-based master's or PhD degrees in NSF-supported disciplines: Chemistry, Computer and Information Science and Engineering, Engineering, Geosciences, Interdisciplinary, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physics and Astronomy, Psychology, and Social Sciences. Applicants should have completed no more than 12 months of graduate study and must be U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, or permanent residents prior to the application deadline date.

Award: Awardees are provided 3 years of graduate school support. Fellows receive a $30,000 annual stipend and a $10,500 annual cost of education allowance, a one-time $1,000 international travel allowance, and access to TeraGrid supercomputing facilities.

Award: Each three year fellowship provides a stipend of $27,500 for 12 month tenure, a cost-of-education allowance of $10,500 per tenure year, and a one-time International Research Travel Allowance.

Awards: Approximately 30 non-renewable fellowships of $20,000 will be awarded to support completion of the dissertation. This amount must be expended within two years of the award and in accordance with the work plan provided by the candidate.

Stewardship Science Graduate Fellowship

Awards: The fellowship includes a 12-week research experience at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Los Alamos National Laboratory, or Sandia National Laboratories. Available to students pursing a Ph.D. in areas of interest to stewardship science, such as properties of materials under extreme conditions and hydrodynamics, nuclear science, or high energy density physics.

Benefits: $36,000 yearly stipend, payment of full tuition and fees, $1,000 yearly academic allowance, yearly conferences, and is renewable up to 4 years.

SunShot Postdoctoral Research Awards

Award: Yearly stipend with two years of support, research and travel allowance, health insurance, relocation allowance.
