Duties of the Position: With minimum direct supervision, student worker will rely on knowledge of appropriate search engines and historical databases to assist in locating, evaluation, and compiling research and teaching materials related to East Asian history. For research material, duties will include evaluating content of materials for relevance to research goals, photocopying and compiling a bibliography. The student worker will be expected to identify resources and to make decisions regarding relevance and usefulness of sources. For teaching materials, duties will include searching internet sources as well as print materials and scanning or otherwise preparing materials in electronic formats for classroom use.
Skills Required to Perform the Position: Ideally, student would have word processing, PowerPoint, scanning software, and internet skills as well as familiarity with a wide range of journal and historical databases.
