Duties of the Level I Position:

Monitors the common area of assigned building.  Answers phone, greets and assists residents and guests, checks out equipment, post flyers.  Works on administrative projects as assigned.  Enforces Residence Life policies by confronting residents to correct inappropriate behavior.  Follows Residence Life procedures under the direct supervision of a Housing professional, and under the instruction of the Senior Resident Assistant or Desk Manager between the hours of 7:00 am and 12:00 am.  Acts appropriately in the event of a crisis, appropriately identifying the individuals that need to respond. 

Duties of the Level II Position:

Monitors the common area of assigned building.  Answer phone, greets residents and guests, checks out equipment, posts flyers.  Works on administrative projects as assigned.  Interprets and enforces Residence Life policies and follows Residence Life procedures with little to no supervision during the late-night shift from 12:00 am - 7:00 am.  Acts appropriately in the event of a crisis, appropriately identifying the individuals that need to respond.

Skills Required to Perform the Position: Residence Life Desk Assistant Training, knowledge of Residence Life Policies and Procedures, ability to deal with people effectively, extremely flexible, commitment to follow-through, good judgment and common sense, positive attitude.
