Duties of the Position: This position assists Director with multiple and varied tasks related to the smooth operation of the college.  The individual should expect to be responsible for deliveries, photocopying, sorting, reviewing and analyzing the classroom and building needs, working on files, lists, and as abilities develop-spreadsheets.  The individual must maintain confidentiality and learn the policies and procedures of the University.  This individual will provide assistance to other departments on occasion when the Director deems it appropriate.  As the person develops in the position, greater responsibility is delegated.  The individual will be responsible for regular tasks on their own initiative as well as special projects and assistance to the Director and also to the Dean and Assistant to the Dean.  The student should know or be in the process of learning Word, Excel, and be proficient in internet searching.  There are some duties for the Dean and his assistant where this student will be searching other higher education institution websites for specific data.

The work for the Director is related to the operations with budgets; classroom operations (also with our IT); the day to day activities--organizing and oversight for some events, etc.  This is a busy office that requires the individual to have initiative, take responsibility for their portion of the activity, and follow-through.  Some responsibilities are assigned initially and expected to be conducted in a professional manner throughout the year(s).

Skills Required to Perform the Position: All Microsoft Office products, internet searches, organizational and analytical skills, written and verbal communication skills, and time management. Ability to work with little supervision. Ability to handle information and projects in a confidential manner.
