Land Legacy
Title of Student Position: Student Project Associate
Number of students requested to fill above position: 1
Duties of the Position: Assists project staff in project research, administration and coordination of other non-negotiating functions. Assists with drafting letters, memos, funding proposals, and overall help with presentations. Helps with coordination of project activities. Performs research in land ownership and land use patterns, legal, political and economic issues associated with acquisition projects. Performs research into state and federal government grant opportunities that support the mission of Land legacy. Responsible for compiling data required for grant application submittal. Assists with private funding sources as needed by other staff. Prepares correspondence and reports, including project specific presentations. Prepares graphic materials for presentations and other project-related graphics work, including the creation of GIS maps and layouts. Responds to initial inquiries from public and governmental agencies. Assists with community outreach and organizing for projects. Works with other staff on project fundraising, special events, administration, other tasks as necessary. Provides general project assistance to Land Legacy staff, the public, clients, etc. Performs other project-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Skills Required to Perform the Position: Proficient with Microsoft Office. Familiarity with ArcView Software a plus though not required.
