Grant Writing Assistant

Duties of the Position: Researches grants which potentially are relevant to the current and potential programs of Living Arts of Tulsa.  The assistant puts together a Grant Writing Schedule and provides the Artistic Director with the questions that he will need to answer in order to know what to write.  The assistant makes direct contact with the granting agency to see if the proposal is one that would be right for them.  After obtaining all the needed data required by the grant, the assistant then creates a rough draft which is then reviewed by the Artistic Director and changes are made and resubmitted.  If approved, the assistant then mails the grant to the funding sources and follows up with the sources as to possible support materials or further information needed.  Current evaluations for programs that Living Arts sponsors are also the responsibility of the Grant Writing Assistant and the question and answer sessions with the Artistic Director or Chairperson of the program's committee are made in order to write the evaluation. 

Skills Required to Perform the Position: A self-motivated attitude, good communication skills, a creative spirit, and appreciation for contemporary art, and a taste for quality.
