A full range of support services is available to help you succeed at The University of Tulsa.

The Center for Student Academic Support provides services to all students to enhance opportunities for academic success.

The Center can assess your academic skills, teach study strategies to improve your performance, and provide affordable peer tutoring when necessary.

During the academic year, the Center sponsors a weekly brown-bag lunch workshop series on a variety of topics, such as test preparation, study strategies, note taking, effective interaction with faculy, and many more.

Other campus academic support services available at no cost include:

  • Northwest Passage Tutoring Center - This facility is a tutoring center/study lounge located in Allen Chapman Activity Center. It provides a bright, airy, quiet space for tutors to meet with their students. The facility is furnished with comfortable chairs and couches for resting, relaxing or studying. Several computers are available for Internet research and/or writing. Northwest Passage is staffed by students from the Center for Academic Support and is generally open seven days a week.

  • Computer-Assisted Writing Center - Located within the Department of English offices in Zink Hall, the Writing Center offers free personalized writing assistance to all TU students. English graduate students staff the center and work with students in 30-minute tutorial sessions. Tutoring is typically available Monday through Friday on an appointment basis.

  • Math Resource Center - Located in Keplinger Hall, the Math Resource Center provides free individual tutoring for all students enrolled in courses through the Calculus II level. Tutors are typically graduate students or junior or senior undergraduate students who are hired and supervised through the mathematics department. Tutoring is typically available five days per week with no appointment necessary.
