Tulsa is a great sports town, and the action runs non-stop all year round!
The
Tulsa Drillers
are the Double-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies major league baseball team.
Some of the top players in baseball have played for the Drillers on their way to the big leagues,
including league MVPs Sammy Sosa, Ivan (Pudge) Rodriguez, and Juan Gonzales. And Drillers Stadium, the
largest ballpark in Double-A, is only two miles from campus.
Minor-league professional hockey has a long history in Tulsa, dating all the way back to the 1950s! The
Tulsa Oilers play an exciting
schedule from October through March at the Convention Center Arena downtown, just four miles from campus.
If you've ever seen arena football, you know just how fast-paced and high-scoring it is. And the
Tulsa Talons are no
exception! From late March through July, the Talons rack up the points at the Convention Center Arena downtown.
