School is keeping me pretty busy right now, but it’s going on hold for a second because I’ve had a special request for another blog post.

This one’s for you, Dad (and anyone else who’s interested).

My parents went to Italy last May with two of my mom’s good friends from college. When asked about their experience, my dad’s go-to line was, “I loved being able to eat without fear.” Of course he loved other things too, but the food was definitely a highlight. Continue reading

Throwback to Orientation week

Sarah
I know it’s been a few months since new students moved to TU and participated in orientation week, but I’m about to get all nostalgic on you anyway. Being an Orientation Leader was absolutely awesome. I love this school and I loved helping freshmen learn to love it too. Now here comes the part where I brag about my group. I had the esteemed honor of leading The Goonies. We were quite a diverse group with students represented from all across the country and even world. Despite meeting each other for the first time on move-in day, this group of freshmen enthusiastically forged friendships and actively participated in all events. They formed a sand volleyball team and in thrilling, Cinderella story fashion took home the gold. Obviously group cheers and this victory picture were necessary. These people even threw me a birthday party! As the weeks have gone on they’ve joined campus organizations, taken on leadership roles, played intramurals and continue to eat together at the Caf. I have loved seeing their growth and the many ways they have made TU their home. Most importantly I love that orientation week is what brought them all together.

Hello spring

Sarah
Other than football, spring is my favorite season at TU. Here’s a quick update on some of the fun I’ve been having this semester with my friends!

Woodward ParkFrozen yogurt from Yolotti is always a good idea. Peanut butter yogurt with cocoa pebbles comes highly recommended from…well, me. After treating ourselves to dessert, my friends and I headed to Woodward Park, one of Tulsa’s most popular outdoor hang-outs. We even saw a group of dolled up high schoolers posing for Prom pictures. Pretty fun!

Now I’m not sure why the Weinermobile was on campus this week, but clearly it was. Between classes we stopped for a quick photo-opp.

Sara H 3This photo was taken after a big intramural basketball win this semester! Good news, folks. The season isn’t over quite yet. My team plays in the championship game tonight! I’m hoping we win big tonight so I can sport my Tulsa Intramural Champion shirt to class tomorrow.
