Outstanding Chapter of the Year
The National Board of Directors recently renamed this award in appreciation of Charles S. Monroe (BS ’78, BS ’80). The first award was given to the Washington, D.C. Chapter of the Alumni Association.
Alumni Association Announces 2008 Distinguished Alumni
Chip McElroy (BS '85), Layn Phillips (BS '74, JD '77) and Duane Wison (BS '62) are named 2008 Distinguished Alumni of The University of Tulsa. They will be honored at Homecoming October 2-8, 2008.
Jan Grabow Named Mrs. Homecoming 2008
For the last 30 years, TU students have depended on Jan Grabow, director of the Alexander Health Center, for that helping hand. Known for her compassionate, patient and nurturing nature, Grabow is a healing dose of medicine for ill students.
Dr. Jacob Jorishie Named 2008 J. Paschal Twyman Award Winner
Whether he's acting as honorary marching band director, giving pep talks to the athletes or donning Blues Brothers gear to perform as an ad hoc TU cheerleader, Jorishie has remained one of TU's most loyal and visible fans.
TU Alumna Sarah Haskins makes Olympic Team
Haskins (BA '03) will go to Beijing as a member of the US Triathlon team. A former TU cross country and track & field athlete, Haskins earned the final spot in the Triathlon for the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team.

TU Alumni Association announces 2008 tailgate parties and 10 opportunities for you to cheer on the Golden Hurricane this football season!
Wine and Jazz at TU Uncorked 2008
Jazz music highlighted the fourth annual TU Uncorked wine festival at the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame in downtown Tulsa on June 6. This year's event succeeded in directing more than $40,000 to the TU Alumni Association Scholarship Endowment Fund.
