Volunteer Opportunities Outside Chapter Cities
The purpose of an “Alumni Ambassador” program is to reach alumni who do not currently live in chartered chapter cities. These ambassadors basically serve as volunteer leaders for “unofficial chapters.” There may be multiple Alumni Ambassadors per city or region.
Primary Duties of Alumni Ambassadors:
- Correspond and assist alumni new to your area, and answer any questions they may have regarding places to live, jobs, networking opportunities, etc.
- Help maintain contact data for alumni in your area and communicate any changes to Office of Alumni Relations.
- Forward any new information that may be added to Class Notes for magazine regarding alumni in your area.
- Assist with any TU events in area, if needed. Examples of events may be athletic-related tailgates, Admission events, or general events if alumni in area are interested. Events may range from one event every few years to one or two events per year.
- Be willing to post personal email and phone contact information on TU Alumni & Friends website and respond to alumni who contact them for assistance or refer them to the Office of Alumni Relations. We can provide TU email addresses for interested Alumni Ambassadors.
If you would like to become a TU Alumni Ambassador, email the Coordinator of Alumni Relations at nancy-meyer@utulsa.edu or call 800-219-4688.
