Dr. Greg Gardner Inducted Into MAATA Hall of Fame
Dr. Greg Gardner, Associate Professor of Athletic Training and Associate Director of the School of Nursing at The University of Tulsa will be inducted into the Mid-America Athletic Trainers' Association (MAATA) Hall of Fame Class of 2013.
The ceremony will take place in Tulsa on March 15, 2013 at the MAATA Annual Meeting and Symposium. He joins Dwight Eric McDonnell from the University of Missouri and Gary Ward from Missouri State University in receiving the Hall of Fame recognition, the highest honor bestowed on Athletic Training educators.
Dr. Gardner came to The University of Tulsa in 1995 as Program Director for the Athletic Training Education Program. During this time, he has served on numerous Athletic Training boards and committees. He has been active in the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) for more than 10 years, helping set national standards to maintain safety in Athletic Training. Dr. Gardner was President of CAATE from 2009-2011, an Accreditation Site Visitor from 2006-present, and a CAATE Commissioner from 2006-2011. In addition to his service in CAATE, Dr. Gardner was U.S. Vice President of the World Federation of Athletic Training and Therapy from 2011-2013. The University of Tulsa recognized Dr Gardner as an Outstanding Faculty Member in 2012, and in 2011 he received the Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer award from the National Athletic Trainers' Association.
His education includes an undergraduate degree from the University of Wyoming, a Master's degree from the University of Arizona, and a Doctorate from the University of Southern Mississippi, where he was named and Outstanding Alumni.

Students interested in international careers can take advantage of our bachelor of science in International Business and Language. For "fast-trackers," the college offers a combined bachelor's and law degree program, as well as several graduate dual degree programs.
