O*NET - The O*NET program is the nation's primary source of occupational information. Central to the project is the O*NET database, containing information on hundreds of standardized and occupation-specific descriptors. The database is continually updated by surveying a broad range of workers from each occupation. Information from this freely available database forms the heart of O*NET OnLine, the interactive application for exploring and searching occupations. The database also provides the basis for our Career Exploration Tools, a set of valuable assessment instruments for workers and students looking to find or change careers.

CollegeGrad.com - The career information at this site is based upon information from the Occupational Outlook Handbook and is the most comprehensive resource for occupational and career information available on the Internet.  One nice resource is a list of the top employers at the college level. 

In addition to more than 2,000 pages of free entry level job search advice, Collegegrad.com now has 35+ custom Job Search Minute Videos.  Each video is approximately one minute in length and provides entry level job seekers with quick, practical advice on resume preparation, interview preparation, answering tough interview questions and more.

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (www.hacu.net) has placed, over the past ten

years, over 3,400 undergraduate and graduate students in federal agency internships across the country.  In 2001 alone over 615 students served in 22 federal agencies.   While larger agencies, like the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Health and Human Services, made strong use of the program, interns also found positions at the Library of Congress, the Farm Credit Administration and the Central Intelligence Agency.  While the majority of participants are Hispanic, Asian Americans, African Americans, and American Indians also serve in the HNIP.

 

National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education (www.nafeo.org) places students in a wide range of federal offices, though Health and Human Services and Transportation have been particularly enthusiastic in their use of the program.    Other agencies partnering with NAFEO include the Department of Defense, Labor, Interior, Veterans Affairs and Energy; NASA; and the Environmental Protection Agency.
